I had the pleasure to travel out to Maui this week to photograph Doug and Laura’s private wedding at the Four Seasons Maui and (as Doug calls it, “the secret beach”. I will be shooting them again in a few weeks at the Surf and Sand for their formal party which made this a treat to be the only one at their official wedding. I actually had
the opportunity to be the official witness on their marriage certificate.

Heather and I just flew in from Maui where we went to photograph Doug and Laura’s wedding at the Maui Four Seasons in Wailea . The reason I am posting this as soon as I arrived, is that I challenged myself to stay “offline” for the entire trip. I did this last time we were in Hawaii and I really felt it was key to me relaxing and spending quality family time. I am proud to say that I was a good boy once again and refrained from being an internet ie Maui (ok so i did sneak a few emails from the Treo, but that doesn’t count)

The funny thing is that we ended up right next to Jim on our way out as he was headed to London (computer geeks Unite!)

I had the pleasure to drive up to beautiful Carmel California this weekend (or so called Carmel By the Sea i guess). Ryan, Jessica, and I had a great time. It was one of those days where it is overcast the whole day, and then it seems the clouds opened up for some great light. Even though the sun came out, it still felt about -40 below!!!! and on top of it being sooooooo cold, Jessica was a trooper and played in the water anyway. I have to admit that I was a little bummed at the temperature because I know they really would have got soaked in so-cal (I think i might lure them down for a 2nd shoot just to have fun). All in all it was a great trip and a pleaseure to be around Jessica and Ryan. I can tell they are a couple with great character and attention to detail. Listening to their plans for the wedding, I am positive their guests are going to have a BLAST!!!

My adopted home field of Laguna Beach was the location for Erica and Mark’s wedding last month (I seem to be in Laguna about 50% of the time these days). Mark and Erica are both New York transplants and met after relocating (small world huh) Anyhow they had a great time at the beach, and the lighting was just amazing that day.
