Heather and I just flew in from Maui where we went to photograph Doug and Laura’s wedding at the Maui Four Seasons in Wailea . The reason I am posting this as soon as I arrived, is that I challenged myself to stay “offline” for the entire trip. I did this last time we were in Hawaii and I really felt it was key to me relaxing and spending quality family time. I am proud to say that I was a good boy once again and refrained from being an internet ie Maui (ok so i did sneak a few emails from the Treo, but that doesn’t count)

The funny thing is that we ended up right next to Jim on our way out as he was headed to London (computer geeks Unite!)

We (The Cotters) took a few getaway trips in nov-dec this year. One of our favorite holiday traditions is going to the alisal (or “dude ranch” as my girls refer to it).. Heather’s Father and siblings all head up to the Solvang area right around Thanks giving and we just have a good old fashioned cowboy time. The kids learn to ride horses and the parents get to be away from everything. Here is a small slideshow from out trip

so Heather was feeling a little under the weather today,.. so I decided to kidnap the kids after lunch and get an impromptu photo shoot..

I’ve kind of slacked on my fatherly photography roles, so it took a bit of bribing to get them to actually look at the camera. That said I think they/we did ok. We are truly blessed by our kids and thank God for them soooo much.

Ok, I just launched my Blog a few days ago and as you can tell by my lack of photos, I have tried to be a “true” blogger. I know there isn’t a rule against going back in time and posing pictures that have already happened, but I wanted to try and keep my blog reserved to what I was ACTUALLY up to.

So that leads me to tonight. I have (maybe had) an engagement session tomorrow. I was stoked that I would have some content for an “official” blog post. It is RAINING like Oregon and I find out from weather.com the more rain is in store. So i do what any man would do…

I pollish off a box of Girl Scout tagalong cookies

Ok first of all, these things should be ILLEGIAL, ya they are that good!!!  So I didn’t mention that my wife is out doing some areobics so im watching the girls.  While I devour the last cookie (well I didn’t eat a FULL box, but it WAS close) I start to wonder why my youngest (kaitlyn) is so quiet.  I look over to see that she had grown whiskers..  Did she become a cat? a mouse? ingrown hairs?  No to ALL these..  SHE FOUND MOMMIES MAKE-UP!!!!

I start to freak out, but to make a long story short I go with the flow and bring out a light and have some fun…
